According to Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Venkateswara to guide humanity in the Kali Yuga. Sage Bhrigu insulted Lord Vishnu by kicking his chest during a divine test. In response, Goddess Lakshmi left Vaikuntha and descended to Earth. Vishnu followed in the form of Srinivasa and resided in the Seshachalam hills.
